England and Wales

Bible Society exists because millions lack the Bible in a language they can understand, in a form they can use or at a price they can afford. At the same time millions still have no understanding of the Bible's value for them and their communities.

Around the world we work in partnership with 140 other national Bible Societies, helping them respond to the needs and opportunities they face. In England and Wales, we work especially with the media, and in politics, arts and education, to show how the Bible connects with life today.

Scripture Union is using the Bible to inspire children, young people and adults to know God.

God has called Scripture Union to serve a world in great spiritual need. Our long term vision, which inspires and motivates our mission, is for:

  • every Christian to be engaging enthusiastically with the Bible and growing in their faith;
  • every church to be fully equipped to make disciples of children and young people; and
  • every community to have a vital Christian witness to children, young people and families.

Staff and volunteers are at work across England and Wales in communities, schools and churches and we provide resources for individuals and for churches to equip their ministry.

Wycliffe Bible Translators believe that the Bible is the best way for people to come to know and understand who God is. Our vision is that by working with churches, organisations and individuals from around the world all people will have access to God's word in a language that they truly understand.

Wycliffe exists to serve the worldwide church, partnering with churches and individuals to make the Bible available to every people group. The aim of Wycliffe is to partner with others to carry out Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations.

We see Bible translation as something that reflects the character of God. Furthermore, we see God working in and through the work of Bible translation throughout the world. It is our privilege to be involved in what God is doing.
